CLASS OF 2020 – SERVE, LEARN, GROW with the OSSA!

Welcome Classes of 2018 and 2020! We invite you to explore different ways to get involved in service at the University of Saint Francis. Through one-time service events and projects to weekly service to campus initiatives for social justice, we offer service opportunities to meet every student’s needs.

Passionate about service and social justice issues? Like us on Facebook, Follow us on Twitter: @Serve_USF and Instagram: usfserve. We also offer a bi-weekly electronic SERVe-enewsletter which highlights upcoming service events at USF and in the community. Sign up by sending an email saying “Sign me up” to serve@sf.edu.

Helping to make the world a better place is also important to our student community. In 2012, USF student Shane Swygart worked to create USF Cougars Care, a campus club dedicated to communiservice. USF Cougars Care is a group of students who plan and serve together both on and off campus. For more information about USF Cougars Care meetings and service events, join the USF Cougars Care Facebook group, follow @USFCougarsCare on Twitter and on Instagram, USFCougarsCare.

Scholarships for service to the community are also available for students who meet academic criteria, have financial need and serve (not course-related) 20 or more hours per year. The Antoinette Murray scholarship was given to over 26 USF incoming and current students last year. Summer volunteer hours count towards service hours, if they are tracked through the OSSA website.

The Office for Service and Social Action (OSSA) is located in the Campus Ministry building (just behind Brookside) and open from 9 am – 5 pm. Email serve@sf.edu to set up an appointment to meet with one of the OSSA staff, or stop by to see us.

WANT TO LEARN AND SERVE ON A TRIP?

This year we will be offering global awareness and service/mission trips to places all over the world! See the Service and Mission Trip link under STUDENTS for more information.
