U Can Crush Hunger! October 22 – November 5, 2018

This year Team USF will once again challenge other local universities in a battle to see who can raise the most food for Community Harvest Food Bank, USF’s partner in ending food insufficiency since 2008. Students, faculty and staff will collect and donate nonperishable food items each fall. Donation drop off cans are available in Trinity, Doermer, NC Campus, Achatz and Rolland Halls/Buildlings on campus.

Badly needed food items in non-glass containers include rice, beans, canned meats, peanut butter – however, anything you care to donate that is nonperishable is appreciated. We also need help collecting and counting food in donation bins.

Rather donate cash? A donation of $1 = 4 meals/person and also contributes to our drive efforts and competition. Checks and cash donations should be dropped off at donation cans throughout campus or sent to Sr. Anita Holzmer, Director of the Center for Franciscan Life, for distribution to the food bank. She can be reached at aholzmer@sf.edu. Checks should be made out to Community Harvest Food Bank.

TEAM USF is also invited to SERVE at Community Harvest Food Bank on Saturday, November 3, 8:30 – 11:30.am. USF students, faculty and staff who sign up via this Community Harvest link will be passing out food to over 700 families in need through the Saturday Helping Hands program at Community Harvest. Not able to serve that day, but still want to help? For more information and to register go to STUDENT > Browse Community Partners > Community Harvest Food Bank for a list of other days and times to serve.

Thank you for fighting food insufficiency in Indiana!
